-----"The video "A Day in the
Life" was the first video I made where I had to conform to someone
else's
vision. I was given free reign as far as filming and editing were
concerned, but the topic and film length
were decided by my instructor. I was asked whether or not I wanted
to make this video and I accepted,
mainly because of the challenge it presented: I had to follow a student
around campus all day with a
camera and then edit it all down so that it was only 5 minutes long.
Needless to say, I regretted my
decision as soon as I left class. How in the world was I going to
film 6+ hours of footage and cut it
down to 5 minutes and still have it make sense? I finally decided
that I would just face it when the time
came. My instructor suggested that my subject be David Walters, a
digital media student who was
also handicapped. I talked to David and we worked out when to film.
Our schedules were extremely
hard to work around, so in the end, I had to skip a few of my classes
to film his. I had fun though, and
ended up making a new friend. I had a deadline on this thing though,
so editing was fast and furious,
but I think it turned out pretty good...and thanks to Dave, it has
some great music!" - MiG
